December Goals

1) Run the Rudolph Ramble 8k in Under 60 Minutes
If I didn't have to worry about other people, I know I could complete an 8k in about 50 minutes. However, as this is a race, I predict I will have to run the first mile slower than I would like due to the crowd. Additionally, as I learned from the 5k I completed in October, The path may not always be wide enough to accommodate everyone in a particular area at once. Knowing this, I am setting my goal to complete this 8k (which is about 5 miles) in 60 minutes. That allows for a cushion of 10 minutes. I can do this.

2) Drink More Water
Once upon a time, Jessica was really good at staying hydrated by drinking approximately 3 liters of water every day. Lately, Jessica has only been drinking 1 liters of water per day. She feels her best when she drinks at least 2 liters of plain old water each day. Because of this, she has set her goal to down a minimum of 2 liters of water each and every day. Water in, third person narrative out.

3) Take 3 Fitness Classes at the Gym Each Week
At some point in November, I lost my motivation to go to the gym. My lack of gym going equates to spending $23 per gym session during the month of November and that doesn't even include the cost of my trainer. I'm no financial wiz, but I don't believe I've using my gym membership enough to make it a good deal. I also know I'm pretty terrible at coming up with my own workouts to complete at my gym, which is where the fitness classes come in. For the month of November, I would like to average 3 fitness per week at my gym. They can all be on the same day or different days as long as I build the motivation to get them in. Here's to getting back on track.

4) Incorporate Speed Work to Running Routine
Let's be real - I am not looking forward to this goal. However, I feel it's time to embark on this next step of my running adventure. Will it be fun? No. Is it doable? Yes. Will I do it? Unfortunately.

5) Be the Best Run Leader I Can Be
Starting this month, I will be a co-leader of the Chicago chapter of City Fit Girls! I can't personally measure this goal myself so I'll need your help. Join City Fit Girls for a 3-5 mile run every Wednesday. We'll meet at 6:30PM at the Benjamin Franklin statue near LaSalle and Stockton. I can't wait to see you there!
